Acceptance

By installing or using SottoType, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.

License grant

When you purchase SottoType Pro, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the software on Macs you own or control, for personal or business use. The license includes 1 year of updates from your purchase date. After that, your existing version keeps working forever; you may renew for another year of updates if you want them.

Refunds

We offer a 30-day refund from the purchase date. Email support@sottotype.com from the address used to purchase, and we will issue a full refund and revoke the license. No questions are asked within the first 30 days.

License revocation

We may revoke a license without refund if it is being used to violate these terms — most commonly, redistributing the binary, sharing license keys, or attempting to bypass the license check. We may also revoke licenses tied to a chargeback or fraudulent purchase.

BYO API keys

Cloud transcription mode requires your own OpenAI API key. You are OpenAI's customer for that usage; their charges and terms apply directly to you. SottoType is not responsible for OpenAI service availability or pricing changes.

No warranty

SottoType is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make a good-faith effort to keep the software working — including security updates within the 1-year update window — but the software may contain defects, may not meet every use case, and may be unavailable from time to time.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to these terms or your use of SottoType is limited to the amount you paid for the license. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, even if advised of the possibility.

Acceptable use

Don't redistribute the binary, sell licenses, or attempt to bypass the license check. Don't use SottoType to harass, defame, or otherwise violate the law in any jurisdiction where you operate.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the changelog and at sottotype.com/terms with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change indicates acceptance; you may also request a refund within 30 days of the change taking effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms will be resolved in the courts of Singapore. If any clause is held invalid, the rest remains in effect.
